I’ve spent years collecting icons and vintage and antique pieces in Italy, all around Europe, and in the US. This piece is loosely dated to 1940s/1950s but I can’t get a specific time frame. I’ve seen other pieces as early as the 1920s and 1930s but from what I can find it’s leaning toward the 1950s. It was passed down through a family in the late 1980s. It is the best chalkware painting technique I’ve come across. Very subtle and elegant, but also the colors have not faded in all this time. No discernible cracks or shops.
